I am SUPER passionate about injury rehabilitation not only because I’m a Rehab Personal Trainer, but also because I have been through my own journey of injury rehabilitation.

I went through a not very successful hip surgery when I was 36. It took about a year to be able to move freely again and be able to walk any kind of distance which was really difficult for me.

It was through gentle and regular exercise that I got the strength back to be able to move again without pain.

Believe me, I went through the frustrations and pain of not being able to walk properly for over a year and know how that can really impact on your social life and mental health.

I had to mentally coach myself through the nervousness of doing things for the first time again.

Overcoming the “I CAN’T DO IT” Mentality

When you’re injured, it’s easy to feel and focus on all the things that you can’t do, without thinking (or even knowing) what you CAN do. Besides knowing the ‘what’ and ‘how’ you should be safely rehabing your body, there is a journey of starting to trust your body again – and release the fear of hurting yourself again or the fear of making something worse.

The key thing that you need to know is that, with a few small changes, you don’t have to live in fear anymore. Injury rehabilitation is as much about improving strength and fitness from injuries as it is about getting moving, feeling great and being able to see a better future.

About Nicki’s Experience 

There are a lot of Personal Trainers out there and it can be hard to know who will be a good fit for you. When it comes to injury rehabilitation, let me assure you that I have 20+ years of experience in the industry and continually engage in education to make sure I am up to date with the latest scientific findings and changes.

My focus is on a full body approach, which includes hormones, nutrition, sleep and stress as well as Mindset Coaching – because I believe that starting a new routine takes a big effort from the mind and the body.
